Overview
In my role as a Seasonal Interpretation Assistant at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, I was asked to develop visitor feedback surveys for the Accessibility Programs (Memory Tours, Touch Tours, Sensory Friendly Hours). As I began, I discovered that different departments at BBG had their own workflows and expectations for public-facing materials.

I saw an opportunity to create a more unified, accessible, brand-consistent survey process that would better serve visitors and make life easier for staff. I worked with Copy Manager Karen Stave, Director of Design & Communications Elizabeth Peters, and Access Coordinator Bailey Binke to design surveys that followed BBG’s visual and editorial guidelines, offered accessibility options, and fit into the existing web infrastructure. What started as a survey assignment turned into a project of systems alignment, collaboration, and user-centered design.
