Event Invitation

SCOPE

Volvelle wheel and outer folder for event invitation

TOOLS

Illustrator / Photoshop / Procreate

OVERVIEW

Sweta came to me wanting a particularly unique concept for her party invitations. I created 10 dielines and prototypes to narrow down the perfect style for the volvelle wheel invitation and included custom illustrations for a warm and unique touch, based on her aesthetic taste and preferences and particular design guidance.

CHALLENGE

Event invitation for a Lake Tahoe lodge-themed party.

PROCESS

The client wanted a volvelle-style invitation wheel, so I began by gathering research to design the dielines for the invitations.

I created dielines for them to choose the style they preferred.

VISUAL DESIGN

Sweta then requested a hand-drawn image of Lake Tahoe as the front of the wedding invitation. I sent reference images shown below.

She chose number 4 as the reference image, requesting lots of colors, namely pinks and yellows in the scenery. She requested colored pencils and a hand-drawn feel. This was the final image:

She then requested a watercolor illustration of Lake Tahoe for the front of the image. She asked for very vibrant pinks and colors in the image. The final illustration is shown below.

We then finalized the dielines for the folder and volvelle wheel, font choices, and color palette pulling from the colors used in the illustrations. The folder is trifold.

FINAL FILES

With all of the steps completed, I sent all of the final files to Sweta. The final folder and invitation wheel within the folder are viewable below.
